Human-Human Interaction Institute

The HHII has, sadly, buckled to the same market pressures that led to burst of the dot-com bubble during the last few years. We are, however, still looking for funding to continue our research into this critical area. With that, please take this summary of our initiatives as but a snapshot of things to come. We are actively looking for new funding sources and evaluating new funding models.

As man continues to deify the computational construct, a few among the technological e-lite have taken it upon themselves to return to their roots. We subscribe to another moral imperative, and thus focus on building and enhancing human-human interaction. Face-to-face dialogue is our panacea. Few, if any, ideas can be said to originate from one person alone. Thus, establishing a community of persons who are inspired along similar goals is crucial to our development. By building upon the socio-historic context of our classic pedagogy, we look to foster meaningful interactions between people the world over.

Thus, in addition to reaching out to academia, we choose to engage in projects which play themselves out in the "real world". In this realm, we serve as the primary community outreach agent of the Institute of the Future. We learn from these experiences, and hopefully bring some larger amount of reflective practice into the everyday lives of the comman man.

We are attempting to engage all segments of the world that devote themselves to the duty of expanding the human experience, but currently we look to focus on the public, academia, and business.

We feel that a primary method for expanding the reach of our message is to engage the public on their own turf, so to speak. Some of our activities in the public sphere include:

In hopes of engaging the academic community at it's highest level, we have offered the following workshops and courses at various institutions of higher education:

  • 15-411/911 - Special Topics in HHI : Interfacing with Carbon-Based Autonomous Agents in Real-Time
  • MAS.411/911 - IAP Short-Course : REALITY for MAS Students
