DB9 to Mac Serial Adaptor Pinout
Older Macs have a funny round serial port, nothing like the DB9 PC standard one. So people sold cables to adapt Macs ports to DB9 ports. A popular one could be bought for old Palm devices (before they went USB). Anyway, I was stuck on a desert island with only my soldering iron, some wires, and one of these cables - so here's the pinout, just in case you end up in a similar predicament.

> Wiring
You'll need to know that only some of the pins are actually wired. The purple, gray, and yellow wires can just be pulled out, as they aren't attached to anything. On the DB9 side, CD, DTR, DSR, and RI are unwired. But who really needs those anyway?
